Five Lessons I Learned from my Favorite Hoof Trimmer

We are back with Nicki Taylor from Hold Onto Your Hooves in California in this episode. I learned some really big things from Nicki so we are going to discuss what those are and Nicki is going to explain why they are such important things to know. Nicki will tell us why she has taught me each of these topics below.

  • Nicki does not trim the top tusks of a male pig.
  • No grazing in the morning
  • If your pig is in a crate the tray needs to be in the crate
  • Hooves that have soft spots from their environment
  • A pig’s activity level does affect how a pig’s hooves grow
